GROOVED BLIND RIVETS
There are numerous applications that require the use of
special blind rivets. For this reason GESIPAĀ® has come
up with some variations to meet these requirements.
Grooved blind rivets are suitable for riveting
pocket holes in soft materials. They are used in the
furniture industry, for interior construction, in the wood
and plastics processing industry, in car body construction
and lots more. Important: Before processing grooved blind
rivets, the borehole diameter must be determined in trials
and the minimim borehole depth must be observed.

What Is A Blind Rivet?Ā
A blind rivet consists of two parts: theĀ hollow rivetĀ and theĀ mandrel body.Ā The hollow rivet has aĀ setting headĀ and aĀ rivet body.Ā The setting head is located on the processing side and is available with a range of diameters and in different forms. The head variants are as follows:Ā dome head,Ā countersunkĀ andĀ large flange. The rivet body comes in different lengths that will depend on the thickness of the material to be riveted. The job of the mandrel body is toĀ deformĀ the rivet body. It has aĀ predetermined breaking point, at which the mandrel body breaks off once the rivet has been deformed sufficiently. TheĀ filling sectionĀ is the portion of the mandrel body that is left behind in the hollow rivet. The spent mandrel is the portion of the mandrel body that is removed from the set rivet using theĀ blind riveting toolĀ and disposed of.

How To Installing?
During theĀ setting process, the mandrel body is moved using the setting tool jaws, deforming the hollow rivet until it is firmly positioned in the component as predefined. In the end, the mandrel body breaks off at the specified point (the predetermined breaking point) and can be disposed of via the recycling system. The rest mandrel is the spent mandrel left behind in the hollow rivet and can provide an additional locking function depending on the application in question.
